“Behind that million-dollar smile…”

It was Ken’s (Michelle’s dad) speech that brought the day its profound significance in the lives of these two people.

The day was perfect. Beautiful blue skies were as bright as Michelle’s sparkling eyes. The timeline went according to all the well-laid plans. Everyone was present, excited, and brimming over with joy for these two.

Thanks to Emily at Pocketful of Posies, the florals were astoundingly beautiful.

And Gillbrook Farms was looking its absolute best. It was all so perfect!

A well-deserved and hard-fought kind of perfect for Michelle. This woman is resilient.

Behind that million-dollar smile she fought through surgeries, treatments, and diagnoses to get to this day. But thyroid cancer did not steal her family trips, her college experience, her graduations, her teaching certification, or the best moments of her life.

And it did not steal this day. Nope.

This day was about two people. Zach and Michelle. Two people who have been doing life together for years and now have their married years stretched out before them. Together. What a beautiful thought!

Zach and Michelle, you are one incredible support system for each other. Your families are an incredible support system too. Even though Brad did almost steal the show (“We are gathered here today to unite Michelle…and Brad…”)

There was one word that kept coming up as we thought about your wedding day: Strength. You are both amazingly strong and resilient. The support you receive from your loved ones too is so, so powerful.

Let that strength push you forward into the days ahead. Let it sustain you.

And above alllll the other things, let the steadfastness and strength from God himself be your ultimate source of power. By his wisdom, allow only the things that truly matter to build your life together.
