I’ve never seen a bride so darned GIDDY to marry her man.
Rachel was quite literally bouncing up and down with joy, and Cody couldn’t help but smile and laugh with her through his own blissful tears.
Saturday may have been an August day, but the weather fooled us all into thinking it felt like early September.
The air was crisp and cool, and the lush foliage at Fern Hill Weddings filled the air with that sweet, unmistakeable autumn scent.
We met Rachel in the studio, which opens through giant wooden doors to moss-covered stairs and a sparkling creek below.
Flinton, the couple’s tender, plush, ADORABLE golden retriever kept Rachel company as her family bustled around her to prepare her for the day. Flint was anybody’s friend, so long as that person had snuggles at the ready or food in hand (Mama Barb’s cookies in particular). Most of the day he remained off-leash, rarely straying from the side of his master…unless…well…food.
Cody and his guys quickly finished getting ready and indulged in a celebratory cigar while he waited to meet his bride.
And wow, once Cody saw Rachel, the tears wouldn’t quit–all day long.
Constant whispers of “I love you so much” broke any silence around these two. The day was perfect.
Cody and Rachel, I can honestly say I have never seen two people more obviously EXCITED to marry each other…and that alone is saying something!
The word that comes to mind as our prayer for you is LIFE. We see so much life in you two.
We see it in your thirst for adventure, your vibrant love for each other, your care for those you cherish, as well as in your love of dancing and musical talent (right Cody?!).
So on the days when life knocks one of you down, promise that the other will be the one to step up.
And when life–and marriage–doesn’t feel quite like it used to, or even any fun at all, never quit. The hard times will be the parts that make good times even more amazing. You must get through what seems hopeless to experience the BEST.
So don’t you ever quit. Choose to do life together every day. We’ll be rooting for you and all of your adventures.
xoxo

P.S. Give Flint some snuggles for us!
